Notes:

  • The figures above generally do NOT include any expensive additional canvas treatments when a cheaper option was available.
  • Our canvas has a break and tear strength comparable to 13 oz canvas but is only 11 oz by weight. For this reason, the comparison chart above is for 12 oz with exceptions and notes listed below:
    • White Duck quote is for 10 oz as that is all they offer.
    • Davis Tent quote is for 10 oz as that is all they offer online. However, a 12 oz option is available by special order for a 20% up-charge.
    • Bravo Tents uses a 10 oz canvas but claims that their specific “Sunforger Marine Boatshrunk Canvas” is higher-end and comparable in strength to a 14 oz. Also, beginning sometime 2020, they will offer a lower-grade/lower-priced tent than their current “Guide” and “Supergrade.”
    • Wall Tent Shop has multiple options.
      • However, our prices still beat out their 10 oz material:  (adding $200 for 4 extra windows).
    • Denver Tent offers both. Quote above is for 12 oz. Subtract $100-$200 for their 10 oz.
    • Cabela’s / Montana Canvas offers both. Subtract $200-$250 for their 10 oz.
  • Regarding tent size variation: For Bravo Tents and Denver Tent, their comparable available sizes online are 12×15, 15×15, 15×21 and 12×14, 12×16, 12×20 respectively. However, they both provided quotes for 12×14, 14×16, and 16×20 (shown above). The quote for the middle size for Cabela’s is for their 14×17.
  • Cabela’s partners with Montana Canvas such that they are essentially the same source so they’ve been combined above. Montana Canvas is privately owned and USA-manufactured.
  • Spring Bar Tents could not provide a quote because they said they are “incredibly back-ordered” and currently “restructuring wall tent offerings.”
  • To keep things simple, we’ve left out some of the little perks that come with an Elk Mountain Tent. For example, all of our wall tents include a ridge opening for added ventilation, a unique wire support system, and eave ropes and wooden tensioners.

How can we offer more canvas for less?

  1. We don’t have retailers who take a cut of the profits. There is no retail mark-up on our tents. We pass those savings on to you!
  2. We don’t maintain a storefront. What would have been expenses – rent, utilities, displays, repairs, etc. – is now the opportunity to lower our prices.
  3. We’ve streamlined the process. Rather than bog down our end with a hundred custom orders, we’ve decided to just offer ALL of the most requested features in our most standard model. This more efficient, time-saving process means we can make more tents. So, rather than raising the tent price to make our profit, we’ve chosen instead to just take the approach of selling more of them.
  4. Our material doesn’t require additional mold/mildew, sun, or water treatments.

But price isn’t the only factor in which we surpass the competition. Our unique polyester canvas is superior, boasting a significantly stronger break and tear strength over traditional cotton canvas.

We design our products with better materials and technologies. This gives you better products at incredible prices.
